JD: IP Manager/IP Attorney/ IP Engineer

Location : Hyderabad.

Job Summary:

Manage the process in preparation and prosecution of patent applications for various companies, including meeting with key developers, architects and inventors in the business units, harvesting and prioritizing innovation for patent protection, supervising outside counsels in preparing patent applications, coordinating with outside counsels in managing the prosecution of pending patent applications, reporting to relevant business stakeholders, and assisting as needed on other patent-related matters, including potential assertions and inbound threatened or actual litigation. This individual may supervise non-attorney staff.

Key Responsibilities:
• Help lead strategic patent procurement of the companies, including educating inventors and business people on topics related to intellectual property • Manage and drive the process of procuring patent rights for the companies, including: managing and evaluating all invention disclosures that are generated from the companies, initiating inventor contact and procurement of outside counsel, building, maintaining and managing relationships with inventors and outside counsel, from evaluation of inventions or innovations through the process of obtaining and maintaining granted patents • Assist in identifying and harvesting patentable ideas from the companies • Collaborate with outside counsel in the prosecution of patent applications and other intellectual property matters • Coordinate closely with asset leads and their delegates in assigned business units to help harvest and protect intellectual property assets • Evaluate risks and help execute assessment plans for third party intellectual property assertions • Work closely with outside paralegal and administration staff in properly docketing and documenting their work and the companies Intellectual Property portfolio • Manage multiple projects, expectations and concerns working closely with the company’s partners, executives and clients, in a focused and responsive manner • Deliver timely, rapid, focused and relevant responses to both the inventor/client teams as well as with the companies Legal Group

Educational Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree or comparable education in computer technology, electrical engineering or other hard science preferred
• Law degree preferred
• Registered Indian patent agent or a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent Office

Work Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing intellectual property/patent law
• Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications along with experience assisting intellectual property assertion reviews
• Experience in patent and IP litigation and related counseling preferred

Work Requirements:
